Our life now

Well, this week I finished up my finals (Aaron finished last week). Now that we are done with school for the semester, we aren't quite sure what to do with ourselves. We are busy with work, which takes up part of our days, but at night we have been trying to find things to do. We have found, with the new fallen snow, that night sledding is extremely fun. We live in campus housing and in the middle of "the village" there is what we refere to as "the bowl". Basically, the bowl is part of the village that slopes down making for a huge hill! Our friend Ryan has two tubes that we filled up and went sliding down the hill.....unfortunately there are no pictures of us sliding down the hill because we were just having too much fun....but here are some funny photos of all bundled up!

Unfortunately with a few nights of sledding, I got sick AGAIN! However Aaron got to spend a night of night sledding with his older brother Barjona. Aaron gets pretty bundled up like a ninja but sure enjoys his night sledding.

Last week, we put up a Christmas tree It's not much but there really isn't much space for anything fancy here in our apartment.

I know this picture is on it's side.....but its a fun Christmas tree!

About us!

So here's a little Q & A of how we met and fell in love:

When did you meet?
We met around October 27th, 2007. Aaron had just returned home from his mission in the Porto Alegre Brazil Mission. He had been home for about 9 days when i spotted him and couldn't help but love him :)

Where did you meet?
We met at our church. On a sunday night. We were in a single's ward. We have a sunday night "family prayer" called ward prayer that we would meet wiht other singles and pray together.

How did you meet?
I actually heard aaron talking to a friend of mine in Portuguese and I couldn't help but notice how absolutely gorgeous he was and so I went up and talked to him. We hit it off and we talked for a few hours after that....it wasn't long before we were an item.

Where did your first kiss take place?
Our first kiss was on his couch while we were having a Harry Potter Marathon. He grabbed my hand and eventually he kissed me a LOT!

What was your first kiss like?
it WAS GREAT!

When did you realize you were in love?
I think it must have been at some point when I realized that I couldn't live without him....about a month after spending every day together

When did they realize they were in love?
I would say that it was not long after I fell in love....4 months after dating, he asked me to marry him.

Who said "I love you" first?
I told Aaron first, but he wasn't ready to say it back until a week later! I was bummed out at first, but I later realized that he wanted to make sure that when he did say it he truly meant it.

Did you hide your love?
Not at all! Had I hidden my love from him we would not be where we are right now.

Had you talked about marriage with another person?
Not really....

Is your spouse romantic?
Yes he will bring me roses or do other sweet little things out of the blue! He's amazing!

Do you believe that you can change someone?
I can't they can't change unless they want to change themselves.

Would you ever fight somebody over your spouse?
Would I fight for my spouse? I would do anything to protect his honor and his life.

Did you prefer to date various people or did you pretty much fall into monogamous relationships quickly?
We decided that when we started dating, we would be dedicated to each other!

Were you afraid to ask people out on dates?
Yes, but I sure dropped Aaron a LOT of hints to ask me out

What were the negative points about being single?
Not being able to share my life so fully with someone as I do now.

Do you think it's better to look for love or let it find you?
I think you should let it find you. Eventually it will. When I stopped looking he found me and love wasn't far behind!

Have you ever found yourself worrying about commitment?
Not really!

Do you think couples should spend a very large amount of time together or space things out a tad?
We do just about everything together. We work in the same place, basically. I just love being around my sweetie!

What makes your heart flutter and brings a big cheesy smile to your face?
Every morning I wake up and realize that my life isn't a dream!

Do you believe there's hope for people after they get back together or do you think the same problems that caused the initial break up will resurface?
Yes, there is hope but both must be willing to repent of what damaged the relationship in the first place.
.
Do you have a song?

Depends, the song we danced to at our wedding was "When You Say You Love Me" by Josh Groban

Do you have a special word(s)?
I'll love you til forever!

What do his parents think of you?
I am not so sure that they liked me at first really because they didn't know me but now I'm pretty much sure that they love me!

What do your parents think of them?
They love him, and the more they get to know him the more they love him!

How long was it till you got engaged after you started dating?
A little less than 4 months! We moved pretty fast!

Do you own a home or rent a place?
We rent.....easier while we're in school

Who cleans?
I usually do

Who cooks?
About 60% me, 40 aaron

Who is the most stubborn?
We both can be stubborn.

Do you have separate checking accounts?
We're in that....we're getting to the process of joining them

Who is the "bread-winner"?
I get paid more but Aaron works more....so about the same

Who "wears the pants" in the house?
Neither one of us.....who needs pants!

When is the last time you or your spouse bought each other flowers?
This week, Aaron got me 2 dozen pink roses for no reason at all

Do you know your spouses passwords/pins?
Yes I do

Did you go on a honeymoon?
Yes, we went to Southern California....SeaWorld and Disney Land. It was great

Does your Spouse trust you?
Sureley

Do you trust your Spouse?
Yes! With my life, heart, and eternal soul!

Have you or your spouse ever compared each other to someone you have dated in the past?
No, other than saying how greatful we are for each other and never settling for someone else.

How long are you away from your spouse before you start to miss him/her?
One minute

Are you a 2 peas in a pod or opposites attract couple?
A little bit of both! We're alot alike but very different!

So here's just a little bit so y'all can get to know us!

One year!

So can you remember what you were doing one year ago?! I can. I was sitting in the hospital all night and day and finally Jessica had little cute Addison! Yes it's my "bff's" baby girl's first birthday! What a fun day! After being up all night, I decided to head back to Salt Lake City (and good thing I did!) I made it back just in time for ward prayer where I met the love of my life! Yes that's right, Aaron and I have known each other for exactly one year today! It's crazy! I know some of you may say....wow and you are already married?! Well yeah....it was practically love and first sight. really. Just to think that life would be so full now. I was really ready to finish the semester here at the U and then just move back home, but Heavenly Father had other plans for me. So it is amazing to me that he is my husband and I count my lucky stars that he is there with me through everything. Funny how life happens!

I'm trying to get better at this

Well, I am not very good about this blogging thing, but I am trying. Aaron and I are doing well, just very busy with school and work. I am switching jobs on wednesday!!!!! Finally! Aaron and I will actually share a parking lot in our workplaces. My fall break is fast approaching and I am extremely excited to get a break from it all. Unfortunately we can not do anything for fall break because Aaron doesn't get fall break. Anyway, this is going to short because I need to get back to my studies, but not much is happening in our lives other than just getting used to being married :) Oh yeah, we painted our living room wall, if you can call it that, victorian garnet to add a little color to our little apartment. We finally bought a kitchen table, and I am trying to make our little apartment more of a cozy little home by decorating it just a little bit. Well hopefully I will get to write a little more soon.

Well, Aaron and I were married on August 8th, 2008 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Yes we're Mormon, so if you don't like it, get over it! We met in October of 2007 when Aaron returned home from his mission in Porto Alegre Brazil. Aaron is from Layton, UT. I am from Manzanola (and more recently) Fort Collins, CO. I returned home from my mission in July 2006. I served my mission in Resistencia, Argentina. We started dating just two months after Aaron returned home (after hanging out for two months). We enjoyed each other's company through the long winter months that we had in Salt Lake. At the end of the winter, on April 10th, Aaron asked me to be his wife for all of eternity. He proposed in front of the fountain in Temple Square.
We almost impatiently enjoyed the summer months waiting for our families to meet and finally on August 8th, 2008 we were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City temple. (For more information on temples and eternal families please visit www.lds.org
As many of our friends and families have asked about our lives and plans, here they are:
School: Aaron is starting his freshman year working on his associates in Biology at Salt Lake Community College working towards Pharmacy School. I am in my last year of basic classes before hopefully entering into the classroom next fall and graduating the following Spring in Spanish teaching. Yes I am a super senior, but I'll explain that later :)
Work: I currently work at the University of Utah Hospital in the pulmonary lab, basically titrating oxygen. However, I will be moving over to the Lung Health Study Center in Research Park at the beginning of next month. There I will be working with a variety of studies and doing Pulmonary Function tests. Aaron also works in Research Park for Red Bag Solutions in which he handles biohazardous waste materials.
Children: This is a question many of you have asked and here is the answer. We have decided to not put off education or work to have children. We have decided not to prevent a pregnancy in any way and let a child come when Heavenly Father decides to allow us to care for one. Family please don't worry, we will let you know when we are pregnant. Well until the next time :)
