The adventure continues.....

Wow so much has happened since I last "blogged".  I don't even know where to start.  Well after months of job hunting we finally found a job and had to move.  Everything all happened so fast.  I applied for the job on a Friday, they called me Monday, offered me the job the next Friday and asked me if I could be down in Texas in two weeks, leaving us very little time to pack and say good bye to our dear friends and family.  However, we did it and arrived in Lewisville, Texas on July 30th, 2010.  Luckily I was able to find us an apartment before we got down here.  Needless to say, however, our trip didn't go as smoothly as we had hoped.  We packed everything up into an ABF trailer (which by the way is the way to pack your stuff and move it so you don't have to haul around a huge U-HAUL)....and packed our car with the necessities and said goodbye to our friends and family.  We are truly blessed to have such great friends and family who came, helped us pack, and have shown us so much love at such a bittersweet time in our lives.  As we left Salt Lake, we headed down to Aaron's parents where we stayed the night, received blessings from Aaron's dad and then headed on our way....with our hearts and bellies full. The kitties did great all the way to emery.  However, we had to give them sedatives from Emery to Albuquerque.  Unfortunately, the sedative had a reverse effect on the biggest one and he was such a big bully the whole ride over there.  When we got to my sisters, our kitties had a nice yard to play in full of sand and stayed there the night.  We had a great time with my sister and her family.  We got up dark and early, about 3 in the morning to head off to Texas, but much to our dismay, one of our kitties was missing.  We searched and searched to no avail and had to continue our journey without our beloved Nero.  This broke our hearts and we miss him very much as he has not yet been found.  We love you our sweet little negrito.

We then had to start the last leg of our journey....and the second round of sedatives, which seemed to work a bit better with Agge this time.  We got to Lewisville at around 2 in the afternoon and were welcomed with about 107 degree weather...holy hotness....We got to our apartment and set up our air mattress and kind of just relaxed all day.  Much to our surprise our air conditioner broke the first night we were here and we had to head to walmart at about 1130 at night to buy a fan.  Finally our AC got fixed but because of the extreme temperatures....our house only gets super cool at night...
We went to church our first Sunday here and really love the people.  We are attending a Spanish branch again and are looking forward to meeting some cool new people, although no one can compare to the friends we left behind.
Monday, August 2, I started my job....coaching volleyball....man the coach is crazy.....she had practice from like 9-5 or 6 every single day.....which was really hard for me.  I got really stressed out that first week, but am extremely happy that my husband holds the preisthood and was willing and able to give me several priesthood blessings....and to top all of it off i got a sinus infection right when we got here....I'm slowly recovering and am glad that we are already two weeks into volleyball and I am getting more and more used to the demands on my time.  We are continually trying to count our blessings and remain faithful rather than doubt the ways in which Heavenly Father has directed our lives, after all.....our decision to move here was made after much prayer unto the Lord.  As a famous LDS hymn goes.....Sacrifice does bring forth the blessings of Heaven....
Tomorrow I start our teacher inservices before school starts on the 23rd.  This will be an exciting new challenge for me as I finally get to have my own classroom.
The town I teach in is incredibly small (one stoplight kinda small)....the people are really sweet....but I do have my work cut out for me.  The students (volleyball girls) that I have talked to have not learned spanish to the level that they should to be in Spanish two so the first semester, I believe will be a lot of review of Spanish I.  However, this should be a great opportunity for me.  I will keep you all updated (as often as I can).  Meanwhile, Aaron is continuing on the job search and continues to be a great support to me.  He truly is my angel sent from Heaven as he supports, loves, and helps me to follow my dreams, even when I question what we are doing here.  I thank Heavenly Father each day for sending me the perfect man to help me fulfill my potential.
Oh I almost forgot.the Dallas Temple.  Last Sunday, after a very difficult week, we drove to Dallas to see the temple.  The gates were closed but we were able to park and admire the majesty of the Lord's house.  Friday after feeling awful all day long, I endured the 23 miles drive to the temple so we could do a session and feel the comfort and peace of the Spirit that resides in the temple.  We left feeling comforted and uplifted.  The Dallas temple is an extremely small temple, but nonetheless, a temple unto the Most High God.

Hope, Faith, and Love

The last 2 years has been full of hope, faith and love.  At a time when I felt like giving up and moving back home, and then I met the love of my life.  Little did I know that this love that started out so small would grow into something beautiful.  Not long after meeting, we were dating, and then engaged and preparing with faith to start our eternal family.  On August 8, 2008, we were sealed for time and all eternity and decided to start our family and try to have a baby....little did we know that this would be a struggle...We hoped and hoped for the first year that we would be able to get pregnant and have the greatest desire of our hearts...but Heavenly Father had other plans.  Our patience has been tested over and over.  Our faith has been tried as we have seen many loved ones get pregnant and have beautiful children, while we were struggling to get pregnant.  The last year has been extremely difficult as every single one of Aaron's siblings that is married had a baby or is currently pregnant.  We questioned what we were doing wrong in wanting a child so much...

We began seeing a doctor that didn't really help us and after six months of seeing him, I had almost lost all hope.  Luckily we met Dr. Hammoud who is working hard to help us get pregnant.  We had a hysterosonogram which led to the discovery that my uterus had polyps which was making it difficult for a fertilized egg to grow and thus causing me to not get pregnant, but there was a solution.  Recently, Dr. Hammoud performed a Dilation and Curettage procedure in which he removed the polyps.  This was an extremely painful procedure that put me out for 3 days.  However, we now have renewed hope that we will be able to naturally conceive a child and have the greatest desire of our hearts....a child.  Please keep us in your prayers and we will keep everyone updated as to when we have the greatest news of our lives!

On another note...of hope, faith, love, and extremely hard work.  I finally graduated from the University of Utah with my B.A. in Spanish Teaching.  Yes ladies and gentlemen...after years of trying to graduate from college I have finally done it and boy am I proud of myself!

I will try to update more on this blog later.....for now....adios!

Well It's about time!

Well I guess it's about time for a lot of things, considering I haven't updated the blog in pretty much forever!  Lots have happened the last few months.  I started and finished my student teaching at Hillcrest Junior High in the Murray, UT School District.  I had a great time.  Teaching Spanish is really what I was meant to do.  I was extremely blessed to work with a great teacher.  She is from Argentina and so we got along great!  I struggled at time, but really felt comfortable teaching the classes day after day, but was very thankful when it was all over because it means.....

It's about time that I graduate from college.  After 8 long years deciding what I wanted to do with my life, and 8 years filled of adventures like a mission, finding the love of all of my eternity, I am finally graduating with a B.A. from the University of Utah in Spanish Teaching!  Yay for me!  Graduation is in one week from today....oh am I excited!  It was a long hard road, but I did it....so all the naysayers can just keep their big mouths shut!

Anyway...Aaron is working nights now, which is nice for him sometimes because things are a little calmer at work at night, most of the time, but it stinks because we don't get to see a lot of each other when he has to work...luckily he only works 3 nights a week. (Thank goodness for 12 hr shifts).

Our kitties are getting so big...Aggelium, the oldest just had his first birthday and is weighing in at 13.5 lbs, Nero, 8 lbs, and Leo 6.5 lbs.  They are really fun to have around especially when Aaron is at work, or I am at work.  They are very funny and fun to be around.  We really love those little guys.

Next week, we head to Colorado as a graduation present to me, so hopefully, if I remember, I will post pictures of our trip.

So long for now!

Latest Happenings.

So I am sitting in the most boring class on the planet, and the only thing that I can do is write on our blog.  Life has been so busy.  We're approaching the end of the semester, and we have projects galore.  So as you can imagine our life is incredibly busy and we don't really have time to do much of anything.  I have a presentation that starts in about twenty minutes, and that means I only have a few more things left this semester.

Thanksgiving was so fun!  I made my first ever turkey and we had a couple of friends over.  It was so much fun to not have to travel or worry about visiting everyone.  However, I did miss spending time with my family.  Christmas will be the same, but so fun!

Our kitties are growing up so fast and Agge is getting big and fat.  Nero is growing slowly but surely.  He had another accident with his mouth and his chin is destined to be lower and show off his gum line a little more than other cats, and if cats had braces, he would need them.  He's an ugly little critter, but so cute.  One other weird thing he is doing is pacing around our heads at night or early in the morning until we wake up or throw him off of the bed.

Maybe once classes are over I will be inclined to write more, but as for now, not really.  Happy Blogging.

Can't believe it's been ten years!

Well, it has! Ten years ago, my step dad, the man who raised me had a heart attack and died. That night changed the rest of my life. As I try to remember all of the wonderful times we had together, my heart swells with joy that I was able to have him in my life. He was my strength when times got tough. He was always a shoulder to cry on and just a great man! How many men would take in someonelse's children and raise them as his own....not many, but he did! There have been many times when I wish he could be there like when I married the man of my dreams, how I wish I could have introduced him to Aaron, because I know they would have loved each other so much! It breaks my heart that our children will never know Grandpa Sal in this life, but because of our Savior we will see him again. I will get to proudly introduce my eternal love to my dad and say I knew you would meet each other one day! How grateful I am for eternal families and the blessings of the temple that we can all be together forever.

I love you Daddy Sal!

Thus far!

Can you believe it? I am posting with less than 4 months in between posts. Oh the joys of no homework! So these last two weeks have been really fun. My little sister came into town for a visit and boy were we busy. She flew in on Saturday evening just in time for us to go to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house. That was really fun. It is quite a beautiful temple. Sunday Aaron and I went to church, and then we headed out to Adam's Canyon for a hike with my sister which was really fun. She got to see the waterfall that has been present in so many of the photos I have taken.
After that....I had to go to work and class all day on Monday, including writing a 7 page paper at 3 am so it would be finished in time for me to give my presentation at 9. So needless to say that after work, I was ready to just relax and watch movies at home. Tuesday was a different story...we went to the reservoir in the morning and had a great time. Aaron and I rafted out to an island in the reservoir and spent some time with my sister. It was great.
Wednesday we relaxed and then went to our friends' (Tyler and Michelle) wedding. It was really great to be there for that. They are such a great example to us. We were also able to see a good old friend of mine, Bryce. We all had a fun time catching up and after that we drove our way down to Emery for the night, where we slept and then made our way to Blanding, UT. On Thursday Aaron took his CNA exam, which he passed and is now looking for a job. :) After the exam, we stopped in Moab for lunch and then mozied our way into Arches National Park. there are tons of pictures from the park, so if you want to see them, CLICK HERE
We then made our way back up and spent Friday sleeping in and then dropped my sister off at the airport. We then made our way over to a friend's house to pick up a cake she made us for our anniversary since our other cake got eaten and i accidently smooshed the one aaron's mom remade for us. It was gorgeous and DELICIOUS. On 8-8-09 we headed up to Logan to celebrate our first anniversary!

We got to Logan ready to do sealings and go to the Logan temple, but as luck would have it we forgot them at home. So we just had dinner and then headed over to the Anniversary Inn. It was great. We had the whole evening to ourselves wihtout any interuptions and it was wonderful.
Well since then life has just contined as normal, as we prepare for school to start and for us to be busy all over again. Where has the summer gone?!

Aggelium
